Kawata, the wakagashira （deputy boss） of Hokuriku Tomiyasu Group becomes furious about kumicho(boss) Yasuhara’s breach of promise, brutally beating him. Yasuhara runs to his shatei (younger brother), Mantani. Kanai group, which is affiliated with the Osaka Asada group, hears about the incident from their friend Mantani, who discusses the matter with the group. Kanai, having long been interested in conquering Hokuriku, conspires to interfere with the family dispute.
